I attended my cousin' s missionary farewell today. They had a dinner at their home last night. As I was driving home last night and also as I reflect today, I have realized how extremely grateful I am for my family. My mom's family has always been close. I see my aunts, uncles and cousins (and now their families) every couple of months. It is usually at a farewell, a shower, a baptism or a wedding. They do get together two times a year, once for a summer picnic and once for a Christmas party(each of my grandma's seven children take a year) as well. It does not matter that many are a lot younger than me because every time we get together, I always feel accepted and loved. There is always the feeling that they genuinely care about my family and our well being. It is nice to know that in a world where there is so much turmoil that my family will always support me. Now, my extended family is not perfect and I could fill many blogs with all of our dirty laundry, but at the end of the day I am so grateful to have a family who cares.
